It’s been an unsettled Summer so far. An entire month without rain has left our pastures looking a little brown.

With daily temperatures in June just below the century mark cattle have been sticking close to the watering holes.

The lack of moisture combined with all this heat and the grass just isn’t growing well in the hay pastures after the season’s first cut.

But we got a surprise on Tuesday. A 30% of scattered showers turned into an entire afternoon of rain and afternoon temperatures below 70! Prayers were answered. Only now it’s gonna be close to 100 for the rest of the week and humid as all get out. Farmers are never satisfied with the weather.
