It’s finally that time! I have loaded up the pickup and I am on the way to Big Sky Country. In case you missed it earlier… I am excited to be working as a part of the team with Montana Stockgrowers Association. Tennessee is in my rear view and big horizons are up ahead.

Last month I traded in ole Rusty for a new pickup. Haven’t decided what ole Red’s name will be.

The last time he will be this clean.

My parents’ dog isn’t too excited to see me leave. Or is he?

Ole Roscoe wouldn’t make a good road trip companion after all. A bit too close for comfort.

I’ll be covering 1,800 miles of road between now and Tuesday. There will be stops to see several friends along the way. First stop: Manhattan, Kansas. Home of the Kansas State Wildcats!

Route for my road trip

The forecast shows that Montana plans to break me in on chilly weather right off the bat.

Just 5* on Tuesday morning for my arrival.

What’s a road trip without some good music? Thanks to Dairy Carrie, I have the ipod loaded up with some fresh tunes from Seth James, Corb Lund, and a lil Classic Country. But I also have my favorites from No Justice, Casey Donahew, Turnpike Troubadours and many more Red Dirt and Texas bands. What’s your favorite road trip music?

Wish me luck!
